Alcohol Sales Compliance Checks

By admin - Posted on 29 November 2010

On Saturday, October 16, 2010 the Meagher County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Southwest Chemical Dependency, conducted alcohol sales compliance checks of 6 establishments in White Sulphur Springs to determine if their staff would sell alcohol to a minor.

A compliance check consists of a person under the age of 21 attempting to purchase alcohol. The underage person will present a valid ID, when asked, which will show their correct age. Our “underage buyer” was not successful in purchasing any alcoholic beverages. All of the server's correctly identified the underage buyer and refused the sale of alcohol and should be commended for their actions. This is an ongoing program and alcohol sales compliance checks will be conducted, unannounced, throughout the year.
