Michelle Hereim Pleads Guilty and is Sentenced for Burglary

By admin - Posted on 29 July 2012

Michelle Hereim was sentenced on July 27, 2012 in a contested sentencing hearing, where there was no plea agreement in place, for the crime of burglary.

The county attorney and the probation officer argued for a sentence of 3 years to the Department of Corrections. The state’s arguments centered around the need to keep the community safe, the need to punish her for her crimes, the need for more intense treatment and the past history.

The defense argued for another deferred sentence based on the recommendations of her addiction counselor.

The judge ordered her to 3 years DOC, all suspended, to run consecutively to the deferred sentence she was given last year – for a total of six years with additional requirements. However, he added a zero tolerance condition and she will be remanded to the department of corrections if she violates any conditions of her sentence, but she will remain in the community so long as she follows the conditions of her sentence.
