In this month the Sheriff’s Office received four hundred seventy (470) incoming calls, twenty eight (28) of the incoming calls were 9-1-1 calls, and two hundred seventy one (271) people coming into the office. For a total of seven hundred sixty nine (769) people who contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Out of these contacts, eighty six (86) were new complaints.

For the month of January 2014, forty six (46) complaints were located in the City of White Sulphur Springs, and forty (40) were outside the City, in the County of Meagher.

(1) One warrant of arrest was served in the City

CITY COMPLAINTS
01-01-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Bozeman. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-01-2014 SHOPLIFT: Manager of local convenience store came into the office to report having video of a minor taking items. Deputy responded and spoke with the minor and parents.

01-03-2014 LOST PROPERTY: Individual called to report losing a set of keys, dispatch took all information on the keys from the reporting party.

01-06-2014 DEATH AT NURSING HOME: Local nursing home called to report the death of one of their residence. Coroner was advised of the death.

01-09-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Helena. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-12-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Helena. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-13-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local resident called stating she had fallen and needed the ambulance. Deputy and Ambulance responded, patient was transported to local hospital.

01-13-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Billings. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-14-2014 OTHER-TRAFFIC PROPERTY: Deputy radioed in he was at a fender bender on S.E. First Ave. Deputy collected the information and brought it into the Office for the incident.

01-14-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Deputy and Ambulance responded to local residence for an elderly female with an uncontrolled nose bleed. Patient was transported to local hospital.

01-16-2014 UNDER AGE TOBACCO POSSESSION OR CONSUMPTION: Local school called to report two students who were in possession of chewing tobacco on school grounds. The minors were issued citation into Youth Court for a minor in possession of tobacco.

01-18-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Great Falls. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-20-2014 CRIMINAL MISCHIEF/VANDALISM: Individual called to report two windows had been broken out of his Suburban. Sheriff responded and the incident is under investigation.

01-23-2014 DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Deputies received text messages of a fight that was planned for that night. Both responded and found no one in the area. Incident is currently under investigation.

01-24-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Great Falls. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-25-2014 DUI UNDETERMINED LEVEL OF INTOXICATION: Individual called from local bar to report an intoxicated male had left the bar and was driving. Driver eluded deputy, drove to his residence and locked himself in his shop. Driver was later located and arrested on several charges.

01-26-2014 ASSAULT (MINOR INJURIES-NO BROKEN BONES): Individual called from local convenience store requesting an officer as he had just been assaulted. Deputy responded and spoke with both involved-one citation for simple assault was issued.

01-28-2014 JUSTICE/CITY COURT WARRANTS-MISDEMEANOR: Individual was arrested on an outstanding City Court Warrant.

01-28-2014 OTHER/INFORMATIONAL: Individual called to report some money that had been stolen from her room at the residence where she was staying. Individual had confronted her roommates whom both denied any involvement. Deputy was advised and the incident is under investigation.

01-30-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Local hospital called requesting a patient transfer to Bozeman. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-30-2014 DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Sheriff is investigating incident that occurred at the High School on 01-24-14.

COUNTY COMPLAINTS:
01-02-2014 MALE ADULT BODY FOUND: Deputy and Ambulance responded to residence in Martinsdale for a possible stroke. Deputy arrived and scene and determined individual was deceased. Coroner was notified and responded to the residence and the ambulance was cancelled.

01-03-2014 OTHER MOTOR VEHICLE-TRAFFIC PROPERTY: MDOT reported a vehicle slide off on Hwy.294 with no injuries. Deputy and tow truck responded.

01-04-2014 RAN OFF ROAD-TRAFFIC PROPERTY: Individual called to report a non-injury vehicle slide off. Wrecker responded just as the vehicle was being pulled out by a passer-by.

01-04-2014 PUBLIC ASSIST: Individual called requesting a welfare check on an individual in Ringling after she had read a disturbing post on Facebook. Deputy responded and found everything to be alright.

01-04-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Benefis Hospital in Great Falls called requesting the ambulance for a patient transfer to WSS. Dispatch assembled a crew and the transfer was completed.

01-06-2014 PUBLIC ASSIST: Individual called to report seeing his wife driving at a high rate of speed heading South on HWY. 89 South. Dispatch contacted Park County so they could intercept the vehicle. Reporting party later called stating he had just seen the vehicle now heading North towards WSS. Deputy was advise and responded, deputy caught up with driver at the couples home-no citations were issued and deputy began an investigation into another issue with the family.

01-11-2014 SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: Deputy responded to a residence to check out a suspicious vehicle in the area. Contact was made with the vehicle owner and found they were coyote hunting on adjacent property with the owners permission.

01-13-2014 DOWN POWER LINE: Individual called to report a broken power line on Birky Rd. Dispatch reported incident to Northwestern Energy.

01-13-2014 DOWN POWER LINE: Individual called to report a power line flapping in the wind at the 9 Mile Y. Dispatch reported incident to Northwestern Energy.

01-13-2014 DOWN POWER LINE: Individual called to report two power line breaks on Birky Rd. Dispatch reported incident to Northwestern Energy.

01-15-2014 SICK CARED FOR: Deputy and Ambulance responded to local residence for an elderly male who had fallen. Patient was transported to local hospital.

01-25-2014 DOWN POWER LINE: Individual called to report a live power line down on Horse Creek Rd. Dispatch contacted Northwestern Energy of the down line.

01-27-2014 CRIMINAL MISCHIEF/VANDALISM: While doing her mail route, individual reported an open window on a residence that had been pried open. Deputy responded spoke with the owners of the home and then secured the residence.

01-30-2014 LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY ASSIST: Park County called requesting a deputy respond to the county line on Hwy. 89 South with spike strips as they were in pursuit of a vehicle suspected of driving intoxicated. Deputy responded but Park County Deputies were able to stop the vehicle before reaching the county line.

01-31-2014 RAN OFF ROAD-TRAFFIC PROPERTY: Deputy, MHP and Ambulance responded to a semi that had gone off the road of HWY 89 North. Driver was not injured and refused transport-MHP investigated the accident.

01-31-2014 RAN OFF ROAD-TRAFFIC PROPERTY: Individual called requesting help after getting stuck in a ditch. Deputy responded to the area and gave the two stranded individuals a ride to town.
